Atlanta Cheek Augmentation Surgery
Facial Implants
A beautiful face is one which is balanced with symmetry and other attractive facial features. In the mid-face region, an underdeveloped cheek bone usually suggests poor health, while a normally developed cheek bone is associated with vigor and vibrancy. In the lower third of the face, the projection of the chin is viewed in relation to other parts of the face, primarily the nose.
Chin and Cheek augmentation is commonly achieved with implants, and they should not necessarily be considered together. Cheek implants, or malar implants, are performed much less frequently, and if performed in the wrong patient can make the individual appear unusual and “done.” It should not be performed instead of a Midface lift. Kalos will provide expertise you can count on to ensure that your procedure will produce the desired results.
Chin Implants
Chin implants can be performed alone or in conjunction with a Rhinoplasty to balance the projection of the nose and chin, or with face lift surgery to help define the neck. Some surgeons make cuts in the bone of the chin and advance it forward to increase chin projection. Infrequently, a patient may need to consult with a dentist to be considered for orthodontics and more involved jaw procedures. A patient’s particular issues need to be assessed and the recommendations individualized.
Why Chin and Cheek Augmentation?
Flat cheekbones and weak chins can have serious effects on the harmony of facial features when taken as a whole. Any imbalance in these bony structures can produce disproportions in relation to other facial features. Improvement in these facial bone structures will result in a face that is proportionately more balanced.
Chin and cheek implants are made by medical-grade materials which, when placed, simulate normal bone. Chin and cheek implants are most commonly made from silastic, which is a safe, implantable, and durable material. These procedures provide patients with additional options when considering facial surgery.
When performed in correctly selected patients one can achieve a more attractive and balanced looking appearance.
