With literally billions of people participating on social media websites, we are seeing ourselves in a whole new light. Our profile picture on sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn is a first impression to those who view us. I have noticed that many people tend to perceive themselves differently online than in the mirror. I hear patients often say “I saw myself in a picture online and I didn’t like the way I looked.” Unfortunately, pictures can capture our most unflattering angles and magnify our least favorite qualities.
Now, more than ever, patients want to achieve facial harmony. The most common procedure requested in my practice is Rhinoplasty. The nose can be altered by removing a hump, altering the angle of the upper lip and the nose, reducing the width of the nostrils, altering the tip of the nose, increasing or decreasing the size and modifying the bridge of a nose. I often perform chin augmentations in conjunction with Rhinoplasties to balance the projection and create an ideal profile. Chin augmentations are a permanent way to achieve a strong chin as opposed to temporary fillers. They also balance the relative projection of the nose to the face. If you want to attain a more balanced profile, call our office to schedule a consultation.
