Add Baking Soda To Your Beauty Routine

Did you know that one of the best beauty products for making your skin look more vibrant and youthful may already be sitting in your pantry? Or even your fridge?

Baking soda, or sodium bicarbonate, is a big time beauty multitasker that helps to balance the pH of the skin – thanks to its antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Needless to say, adding baking soda to your beauty routine is an easy and convenient way to multiply the effects of your facial cosmetic procedure, and maintain natural, young, glowing skin.

Give these a try:

  • When mixed with oatmeal and water, baking soda acts as a nourishing scrub, naturally cleansing and exfoliating the skin to reveal younger, healthier-looking skin underneath. As an exfoliator, baking soda also helps to fight acne breakouts and calm irritation.
  • If you want brighter, more even skin, mix baking soda, a small amount of lemon juice, and olive oil together to make a paste. Wash your face as usual, and apply the paste to your skin. Wait 10 minutes, then give it a quick rinse.
  • When added to a warm bath, baking soda goes to work to calm and soften irritated skin.

One important note: baking soda is only recommended for temporary use. Since it is slightly abrasive, it can be harsh on sensitive skin.
