Britney Spears is still at it, and looking as great as she ever has. In a recent interview with InStyle Magazine, Britney candidly spoke about what she does to stay looking her absolute best. First and foremost, she eats a sensible diet and has a rigorous exercise schedule. She also admitted to having lip injections in the past, and stated, “I think it’s important to look good and feel good about yourself, but I go both ways on it. I think it’s cruel how the world puts so much emphasis on our looks.” We have already touched on the great amount of pressure put on celebrities to maintain their looks, and find it hard to imagine. Britney Spears has been in the public eye since she was just a young kid on the Mickey Mouse Club, and has received good and bad attention over the years that was directly related to her appearance. Some have critiqued her lip injections as being overboard. We do believe there is a fine line between good and bad cosmetic procedure results, and all too often do we see overdone lips.
There is nothing worse than overdone lips. This only takes away from overall attractiveness and is actually distracting to look at. Lip injections, when done correctly, can add to the balance of the face, and make the patient appear more youthful and attractive. It is important to remember that lips will look fullest immediately after injections, as the initial swelling adds to much of the “puffy” appearance. Once preliminary swelling subsides, lips should look fuller, but in a natural way.
Double board certified facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Benjamin Stong, who is not affiliated with Britney Spears, stated, “In my practice, I like to take a conservative stance when it comes to lip injections. It is easy to overfill, and I think to create a perfectly balanced, full but natural lip, takes much practice and expertise. We have several ways of augmenting the lips, but always strive to give the patient an attractive outcome that is not overdone.”
